Obituary

On Friday, May 5, 2017, our dad, Bruce George Anstey of Edmonton, Alberta, peacefully passed away at the age of 90 years.

Bruce was predeceased, in 1995, by his wife, Helen Catherine Anstey (nee: Dewey). He was also predeceased by his father, Fred Edward Anstey, his mother Gladys May Anstey (nee: Moth) and his brother Don Anstey.

Bruce is missed and will be always remembered by his loving family; his son, Mark Anstey (Patricia), his daughter Debra Anstey; his 5 granddaughters: Rebecca Twitchin, Rachel Twitchin (Jay Lucyk), Kristin Anstey (Aaron Chappell), Taya Anstey, and Tonille Anstey. He will also be missed by his dear friend Esther McArthur and numerous friends and relatives.

Bruce was born and lived in Toronto, Ontario. After marriage, he moved to Weston and then to Rexdale, Ontario. After his wife passed away, Bruce moved to Edmonton, Alberta to be close to his children and granddaughters. Prior to retiring, dad worked for Burke Electric, York Gears and Spar Aerospace where he was very proud to be a part of the team who built the NASA Canadarm and the Avro Arrow. Dad loved the great outdoors. He loved his dogs and enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, golfing travelling and anything in the great outdoors. He loved music, dancing, cooking, wine making, gardening, reading, playing the piano, tinkering and being with his family, especially at the lake. He was described as being kind, gentle and caring. He was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand. The family wishes to send a special thank you to all the caring staff members at Whitemud Lifestyles Retirement Community, The Good Samaritan and the St. Albert Citadel. Your caring support and respect for dad as well as your support for our family will always be remembered.

The family thanks you for your kind and caring wishes.

In Loving Memory of
Bruce Anstey
