It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing, by natural cause, of Dr. Antonietta Caffaro-Rouget. She was born in Chiaverano, Italy on June 15, 1938 and immigrated to San Francisco, Argentina in 1948. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cordoba in 1962, and went on to complete her training as a pediatrician, first in the United States, then in Edmonton, Alberta. She was delighted in her career as a pediatrician, a calling at which she excelled as a tireless advocate for children. It was with deep regret that she retired prematurely from her work in 1995 due to illness.
In her spare time, she enjoyed being in nature, travelling, reading, classical music, and in her later years, she uncovered a talent for drawing and painting.
She was a loving mother to her two sons, Roberto (Elaine) Campanaro of Atikokan, Ontario, and Adrien (Julia) Rouget of Edmonton; her stepsons, Thierry and Axel Rouget of British Columbia; and proud grandmother to her six grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Sophia, Isabel, Stephan, and Amelie. She also leaves behind her mother Cesira Caffaro, her niece, Ines (Julio) Caffaro, her great-nephew Lucio and great-niece Macarena, all of Argentina. She was predeceased by her father Juan and her sister Dorina.
She will be sadly missed, and remembered with love, by her family and friends. A memorial Service and Celebration of her life will take place at a location and time to be announced.
