It is with great sadness that the family of Anthony “Tony” Pitura announces his passing after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Friday, April 8, 2011, at the age of 79 years.
Born in Ethelbert Manitoba on October 4, 1931, Anthony moved his family to Langley British Columbia in 1964 where he worked tirelessly in construction until his retirement. His passion for hunting, fishing and hockey was only surpassed by his love for his wife Rollande and family.
Anthony will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Rollande and his children, Shirley, Deborah, Christine, and Bernie. Anthony will also be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Brianne, Clayton, Ashley and Tessa, and by his two great grandchildren Elise and Ty. Anthony was predeceased by his Daughter Diane. He will further be remembered by his sisters Jean and Ollie and by his brothers Carl and Edward. Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary; sisters Emily, Verna and Anne and by brothers Stanley, Walter, Emil and Peter.
Friends and family who wish to pay their respects, may do so at St. Albert Funeral Home on Wednesday April 13, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
A Funeral Service in memory of Anthony will be held on Thursday, April 14, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive St. Albert, AB with Father Mike officiating. No Interment will follow as the family are honouring Anthony’s wishes to rest after cremation.
