Obituary

With sadness we announce Chris died suddenly on January 26, 2011. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, Sheila (nee Maloney); sons, Chad (Christina) and their children, Michael, Will, Theresa, Katie and Lilly, and Steven (Judy) and their children, Sophie, Abby, Carter and Olivia all of Edmonton; and daughter, Heather (Dan Bulat) and their children, Gordie, Natalie and Mitchell of Calgary. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline (Karl) MacDonald of Las Vegas; aunt, Katie Sinclair of England; as well as many other relatives.

Chris immigrated from England in 1954 as a teenager with his parents, John and Blanche who predeceased him and his sister. He had a long, successful career in many roles with Alberta Agriculture before his retirement in 1995 as Executive Director of Finance and Human Resources. Since retirement, he and Sheila spent many years in their second home (the RV) as snowbirds in Arizona. He had many hobbies and volunteer activities he enjoyed and his favourite things were travelling with Sheila and spending time with his grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Eduardo Santos at 11:00 am on Monday, January 31, 2011, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 210 Haddow Close, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 710, 10123 - 99 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1.
