BRYAN, J. Alan (Al) Q.C.

On December 18, 2010, Mr. J. Alan (Al) Bryan, Q.C. passed away at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Al is survived by his loving wife Wendy; children David (Leanne) and Peter (Leanne). He will be lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren; Hannah, Lauren and Matthew. He is also survived by his sister Mona (Robert) Miller. Al was predeceased by his father, George J. Bryan Q.C. and his mother B. Jean Bryan.
Al had a large and very caring circle of friends around the world who will miss his love of life and his wonderful (yet corny) sense of humour. Al had a passion for life that was reflected in how he lived each day and how he treated everyone around him. He will be remembered by all who crossed his path with fondness, respect and a smile.
Al will be remembered as a consummate professional by all who had the pleasure of working with him. He had a long and distinguished career in the practice of law and was a senior partner with the law firm of Bryan & Company LLP. Appointed Queenís Counsel in 1981, Alís dedication and love of the law was evident in every day of his over 40 years of practice. Al was a leader in the community and known for his tremendous dedication to philanthropy.
A family donation will be made in Alís name to the Cross Cancer Institute. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Chu, Dr. Follett and the incredible staff at the Cross Cancer Institute for their exceptional kindness and support.
A Celebration of Alís Life will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton, Alberta. At his request, we will come together, share stories and fondly remember Alís wonderful life.
