With heavy hearts and great sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. Josip (Branko) Pejnovic, on September 17, 2013, at the age of 71 years.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Terry, his two brothers, Tomislav (Paula) and Ivica, and his nieces Treza and Sandra, all of Croatia, his niece and nephew Ariana and Roland Sikorski of Arizona and his many friends, cousins, and great nieces and nephews in Edmonton who will dearly miss their great uncle Branko. Branko was predeceased by his mother Marica and father Grga.
Branko was a man always full of wonder and curiosity about the world around him. He was a life-long learner who constantly sought to challenge himself to learn more and to share his great wisdom and extraordinary knowledge with those that were fortunate enough to call him their friend. He was a great mentor, advisor, and teacher to many, always willing to share his vast knowledge and experience.
He was a leader in the early days of the Croatian community of Edmonton as one of the first organizers and hosts of a weekly Croatian radio program and was often called upon to be the community spokesman. He was a gifted communicator and writer who was fluent in many languages and knowledgeable on many topics. The loss of this strong spirit, whose intellect, integrity, and loyalty to his family and his homeland of Croatia was never-ending, will be greatly missed.
