The family of Lorraine Stang are deeply saddened to announce her passing, surrounded by her loved ones, on February 27, 2013.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Al (Alois) of 56 years; her daughters Sharon (Basil) and Glenda (Colin); and grandchildren Erin and Jackson. Also left to cherish her memory are sisters, Sister Clarissa and Johanna; brothers, Mike (Joan) and Bill (Ramona), sisters-in-law Frances, Delores, Josie, Elsie and Edna; numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was a modest, gentle, and generous woman, who dealt with her illness as she dealt with her life, in a quiet, non-complaining manner. She exhibited tremendous strength, dignity, and courage. She was a devoted wife, and a loving and proud mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she enriched with her genuine love, caring and kindness. We have lost someone very special.
We would like to thank the emergency staff at the Misericordia Hospital – ICU staff Dr. Torok-Both, Dr. Heule, Dr. Henry, Dr Rokosh and Agnes, Kristy, Rachel, Katie, Sam, Bonnie, Elizabeth, Brad, Louise, Louie, Mandeep and all other staff who did everything they could to make Lorraine’s stay as comfortable as they could.
The family asks that you wear some green, which was Lorraine’s favorite colour.
A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Parish, 12810 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 4th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Lung Association (PO Box 4700, Station South, Edmonton, T6E 6K2) or a charity of your choice.
