Obituary
 
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Laurier died after a long battle with acute leukemia and appreciated the support of all the devoted healthcare professionals who cared for him and all the friends and family that visited him during his stays at the University and General Hospitals. He will be fondly remembered for his calm manner, humility and generosity.

Laurier is survived by his loving family: wife of 52 years, Irene Boutin; daughter, Nicole (Richard) Beaudoin; son, Claude (Diane) Boutin and daughter, Yolande (Jason) Alexander. He will also be remembered by his grandchildren; Zachary (Michelle), Guy, Marc and Laurent Beaudoin; Nicolas, Matthieu, Luc and Dominie Boutin; Owen and Elijah Alexander, as well as great grandchild, Annabelle Beaudoin; sisters, Victoria Boutin, Angeline (Roland) Boulet and Marie-Rose Piwowar; brothers, Antonio (Therese) Boutin and Romeo (Marguerite) Boutin; brother-in-law, Alex Gervais; sister-in-law, Bertha (Ross), as well as the members of Irene’s family. Laurier was predeceased by his parents; sister, Julia Gervais; brother, Rosario Boutin and brother-in-law, Joe Piwowar.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas d’Aquin Church, 8410 – 89 Street, Edmonton, on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Blood Services, National Fundraising Office, 1800 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, ON, K1G 4J5
