Obituary

It is with great sadness that Emile Desire Bourbeau born in Cold Lake on December 23, 1921 died from a long battle on June 1, 2012. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years Claire, four sons Maurice, Paul, Rene and Richard and their wives. He has 11 wonderful grandchildren who he loved and adored. He is also survived by two sisters Therese and Lucienne. Emile was predeceased by his parents Lucien and Eva; sister Jeanine as well as four bothers Jean Paul, Gerard, Robert and Raoul. Peppere, as he was fondly known by, always had a great story to tell, was a grand jokester, crib player, fisherman and outdoorsman. Another famous story was how he earned the nickname Popeye. He was a dedicated family man and his lifelong partner Claire is his best friend. The many professions Emile performed started as farmer, carpenter, fisherman, welder, fabricator, adventurer and the biggest job of all father. He was the corner stone of his family, was a strong influence on their lives and forever will be in our hearts. A Prayer Service will be held at St. Joachim, 9924-110 Street, Edmonton, on Monday June 4, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. with Funeral Mass to follow on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. June 5.
