John Alexander Pittendreigh



On October 19, 2010, John Alexander Pittendreigh of Edmonton passed away at the age of 86 years. John was born in Birtle, Manitoba and later moved to Fort Assiniboine, Alberta with his family. After serving in the second world war he settled in British Columbia and later John and his wife moved to Edmonton. John was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 53 years. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Jeannette \"Jean\"; children, Fern and Wendy; grandchildren, Christopher Conlon (Val), Thomas Oord (Kim), Rhea Parker (Kevin), Angelo Pacitto; great grandchildren, Jesse, Bobby, Brandon Parker, Evan, Brett Conlon, Alyisa Pacitto and Ruby Oord; brother, Morris of Chase, BC and sister, Doris Whittle (Syd) of Kelowna, BC. He was predeceased by his sister, Grace Skahl of Slave Lake, AB. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 10985 - 124 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5M 0H9. There will be a private family service on Monday, October 25, 2010.
