Kelly, Cole and Kianna, I am so sorry for your loss and I was truly saddened when I heard the news. I will always remember those Friday and Saturday nights when Brian would drive me home after a night of babysitting you little monkeys, Cole and Kianna! We would always have great little chats about so many different things-he would ask me about my dancing, and tell me all about the skiing, the track meets and the hockey games. He was such a proud father and I am so happy that he was able to be there for all of your accomplishments whether it was on the track or the ice. When I think of Brian, a very intelligent, accomplished, passionate and happy gentleman comes to mind and I feel so lucky to have grown up knowing someone so great. I am sending my thoughts to you all the way from Toronto and I hope that his positive spirit will continually bring you peace and happiness.

Kelly, Cole and Kiana - We were absolutely shocked to hear of Brian's passing. I still can't believe this has happened, even as I sit here typing this message. Please know we are thinking of all of you.

I was truly saddened when I heard of Brian's passing. He was a great teacher and person, and inspired his students to become better people and better lawyers. I will miss him and his Monty Python references. My deep condolences to you and your family.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Brian was bigger than life for most of us and his impact on me personally was huge. Adjectives like competent, progressive, intelligent, caring etc don't even begin to sum up the totality of one of the greatest human beings I ever knew. It was his love of fun, his high moral compass, his dedication and his knowing how to be a friend to so many that gave all of us so much. My thoughts are with you, Kelly, Cole and Kianna. God bless.

Kelly - I was crushed for you when I heard the news. How shocking it must have been for you to make such a devastating discovery. You are a strong lady, and I'm sure you're needing to tap into every bit of that strength right now. I am so incredibly sad for you, Cole and Kianna, that I'm not even really sure what to say, but wanted you to know that I've been thinking of you and praying for you. Strength to you in the days ahead. Love Verlin. xo

I just read of Brian Peterson's passing on Tuesday. He and I were very good friends, and one of my favourite people. We lost touch for 10 years when my wife Deb and I moved to Victoria. Meeting him and talking to him this past few months was just like we picked up a conversation in mid sentence. Brian and I and Debra fought many battles with the Edmonton SPCA and his memory, and our friendship, will always remain close to my heart. Your friend, Rand

Kelly, Cole and Kianna: There are no words to adequately express the sorrow we feel over Brian's untimely passing. He was a wonderful guy and one of the best friends I ever had. We shared many happy times together back in the Ross Shep days, not the least of which was playing alongside him on our excellent football team. Aside from being a very gifted athlete, Brian was a warm and sincere person with a tremendous sense of humour. It was always such a great pleasure to see him over the years. He has left us with many fond memories which we will never forget. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May Brian's spirit live on forever. Dan and Ruth
