Ella truly was a wonderful soul! Our lives are richer for having known her.
posted by Jackie Wilson : We were Peter and Ella's neighbors in Woodbine Court. We lived at 9 Woodbine Court from Feb. 79 till Sept. 86. We had two sons, John and David and was pregnant with our third son, Patrick, when we moved to Barrie, Ontario. Ella knit my sons beautiful sweaters, baby clothes, booties, etc. I still have the sweaters, tucked away for keepsake, I loved them so much. Our sons are now 30, 28 and 25 and it is only John that remembers Ella and Peter. Peter used to play "bus stop" with John. Ella always had treats for the kids. And she taught me how to make scones. I still have the piece of paper that I wrote her recipe on in her house. I have never ever tasted a scone as good as hers in all my life. When my husband, Don, was transferred to Barrie, I really did not want to go. I wrote letters to Ella and Peter and they wrote back to me, which really made me feel happy. I still have those letters too. My niece, Amy Bushell, now lives in the house at 9 Woodbine Court and they also got to know and love Ella. I will always treasure the memories I have of Ella. She was a wonderful lady and my life is richer for having known her. : Mar 31, 2012
