The funeral services we offer

A Loved One Has Died

When a death occurs in a hospital or similar care facility, the nurses and staff will usually handle the initial arrangements, such as contacting the attending physician and Connelly-McKinley.

When a sudden death has occurred at home, call 911. You may also need to contact the medical examiner and local police (E.P.S. or R.C.M.P.). If your loved one was under the care of a physician, call his/her doctor.

Whatever the circumstances of death, one of your first calls should be to one of our three Chapel locations, which can be reached by phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We will arrange a time that is convenient for you and your family to meet with one of our licensed Funeral Directors, at one of our three Chapel locations or in the comfort of your own home (click here for our Chapel locations and contact information)

Our staff will help you make all the necessary arrangements, including: receiving your loved one from the place of death (home or hospital) regardless of the hour or day; registering the death with the government and obtaining either a burial or cremation permit; looking after the details of the actual funeral service, such as the location, minister/celebrant, music, memorial cards, flowers, cemetery arrangements and reception; as well as numerous other tasks.

Depending on your individual circumstances, you may need to contact some of the following people and places: your pastor/minister; place of worship; immediate and extended family members; and place of employment. Ask for the assistance of other family members in making these calls.

Please be assured that our family will be there to help and support your family, with compassion and understanding, every step of the way.

That is our promise to you.
