A Loved One Has Died
When a deaths occurs in a hospital or similar care facility, the nurses and staff will usually take care of the initial arrangements, such as contacting the Attending Physician and Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home.
When a sudden death has occurred at home, call 911, the medical examiner and local police (E.P.S. or R.C.M.P.) may be required. If your loved one was under the care of a physician, contact his/her doctor.
Whatever the circumstances of death, one of your first calls should be to one of our three Chapel locations, which are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7days a week, 365 days a year. We will arrange a time that is convenient for you and your family to meet with one of our licensed Funeral Directors, at one of our three Chapel locations, or in the comfort of your own home. Our People will assist with completing all the necessary arrangements, such as receiving your loved one from the place of death (home or hospital) regardless of the hour or day, registering the death with the Government and obtaining either a burial or cremation permit, arranging details pertaining to the actual Funeral Service, such as the location, minister, music, memorial cards, flowers, cemetery arrangements, memorial luncheon, and numerous other tasks.
The following people may require a call when applicable: Your minister, place of worship, immediate and extended family members, place of employment if absent from work. Ask for the assistance of other family members in making these calls.
